Apparently, the spineless United Nations has condemned North Korea's sinking of a South Korean warship, which resulted in the deaths of 46 sailors, without naming North Korea in the condemnation. Why isn't North Korea's crime worthy of a Goldstone-Commission-type inquiry? Sigh. I suppose I should be used to the UN's hypocrisy by now.
About Me
- Name: Shira Salamone
Once upon a time, I belonged to a left-wing egalitarian Conservative synagogue, where I was one of a number of women who wore a tallit—and one of the few members who used an Orthodox prayer book (adding the Mothers, of course). Having moved since then, I now belong to a right-wing traditional Conservative synagogue, where I’m almost always the only woman wearing a tallit—and one of the few members who adds the Mothers. I seem destined to be forever . . . on the fringe.

North Korea and South Korea remain at war, with an armistice holding off beligerencies. North Korea torpedoed a South Korean vessel, and act of aggression and in violation of the armistice.
There is a spineless party here, but it isn't the UN.
Hmm. You may have a point. I guess the South Koreans figure it's not worth risking an all-out war.
